Exercises are one thing, but doing exercises improperly or incorrectly is something else. Believe it or not, there are better ways to do exercises than others. This process of smart exercising is something that you need to understand before you being a full exercise regiment.
What is Smart Exercising?
It is basically what it sounds like. Doing exercises in the best way to get the maximum effect from them and to be sure that you don't either waste your time or hurt yourself in the process. There are things that you can do to maximize your exercise routine and even make your exercises pay off more. It is more a process of eliminating the incorrect things than learning new techniques.
Warm Up Before Exercising
The first step is to stretch properly before you begin your exercise routine. Proper stretching will get your muscles and joints loose and that will make sure that your body is prepared to begin activity. If you don't stretch properly your blood flow is not what it should be and your body is more ready to creak than to benefit from exercising. It's basically like working your way up to top speed. You don't want to go zero to sixty with your body, it won't end well.
You should also do a quick warm up by running in place for about 30-60 seconds. This will just help make sure that you are loose and it will get your heart pumping and blood flowing so that you are able to fully take the stress exercise will put on your body. Let's face it, exercise is not your bodies favorite thing, it does put stress and pressure on it, but it is for your benefit in the end. You will help avoid injury as well because you will be limber enough to take the exercise stress and pressure.
Smart Way to Exercise
There are a few things that you should bear in mind when it comes to exercising. First
off, you should divide your exercises into sets and repetitions instead of just doing as many as
you can all at once. This way you will be able to end up doing more reps over all and have
proper time to rest between sets so your body can absorb and adjust to what you just did.
Also remember to keep breathing when you exercise. We have a tendancy to hold our breath and
brace ourselves when exercising, be sure to make yourself breathe properly. Inhale when your
muscles relax and exhale when they contract. This will not only make it easier for you when you
are doing your exercises, but it will actually make your exercises more effective.
Accellerate Heart Rate For Maximum Benefit
In order to get the full benefit of exercise, you have to get your heart rate
accelerated at a higher level than normal, for an extended period of time. When your heart is
going at an increased rate, your body burns more energey and will help burn off the excess fat
that surrounds your stomach. It takes about 20 minutes of increased activity to get your heart
rate accelerated to the proper level and after that it will beat for a good hour or so, even
after stopping the exercises.

What To Avoid
Here is what you should try and avoid while exercising. First, don't try to just get through a
certain number of reps just so you can say that you have done them. Exercises have to be done
slowly and with control for them to truly be effective. You can do 100 crunches quickly, but
they won't be as effective as 50 crunches that were done with focus and concentration.
Also keep in mind that you should drink plenty of water during your exercise routine to keep
limber, fit and fully hydrated. Being hydrated will also make your exercises more effective.
Smart Exercising
You need to exercise the smart way in order to maximize your efforts and avoid either wasting
your time or hurting yourself in some way. These tips will help you to be ready to get the most
out of your exercise routine and get you on the right path to a flat stomach.
