Some people wonder which foods they should be eating. You always hear about the foods that you shouldn't eat, now you will learn what is good to give your body. These are foods that you most likely already eat, you just need to verify that they are good for you, and identify which foods to leave out of your meal plan.

Fat Burning Foods

Fruits
Fruits are a great snack and they tast great. They have many essential vitamins and nutrients that your body needs to not only operate, but also to keep the fat burning process going as it should. They are tastey and easily eaten, so be sure to fit fruits into your meals.

Vegetables
Your Mother always told you to finish your vegetables, and for good reason. They are an essential part of life and they are invaluable to your daily diet. They may not always taste as good as a fruit, but they are just as important, maybe more so. They provide many nutrients that most fruits do not. Be sure to eat a wide variety of vegetables, specifically of different color, because they give different nutrients.

Grains
Grains are important to your body. Every different kind of food can supply your body with a specifically different valuable nutrient. But be sure that you eat the whole grains and not the processed wheat and flour. Whole grains still have the value to them that processed grains no longer have.

Meats
Meat is a good source of nutrients and it can be very tasty. Avoid the red meat and the fat that comes along with it. Stay away from the fatty beef and pork. Stick with lean beef, chicken & other poultry, fish, and other kinds of sea food.

Nuts & Raisins
Nuts and raisins are a great anytime snack and they are good for you! You can carry these along with you at any time and just take a handful of them and you will be satisfied for awhile. They are very filling and don't carry any detrimental value with them.

Foods To Avoid

Processed Foods
We have referred to 'processed' foods many times through this page. It is basically a food that has been taken and refined to fit what manufacturers want and need. For instance they would take grains and chop it up and refine it until it is broken down and is able to be distributed cheapley. Unfortunatley this process removes most of the nutritional value that the food originally had.

High Sugar
Stay away from the foods that have exceptionatley high levels of sugar. They are bad for you and they will help you gain weight quicker. These are the foods that have the bad sugar content, the kind of sugar that is manufactured and has no nutritional value. If you want something sweet, focus instead on the foods that have natural sweetness such as fruits, honey, etc.

Empty Calories
These are the foods that have the high calorie marks, but little to show for it. You will quickly go over your ideal daily calorie intake with these foods, but they will still leave you hungry and unfufilled. Because of this, you will keep eating and start gaining weight. Not to mention that they have an extrodinarily high calorie count to them.

Bad Fat
There is a difference between fats. Not all fats are created equal. You often hear the term 'fat' thrown around and it gives different ideas to different people. You need to avoid the bad fat that is harmful to your body and focus on the good fat that is essential to your body.

Final Thoughts

Now you have learned which kinds of foods you should be eating. You may not like everything that you read above, but that is ok. Not everyone will like the same things, and you aren't expected to. With some creative cooking and meal preperation, you will be able to make some meals that taste great and also will help you lose weight. And as for the foods you enjoy that would be considered bad for you, you can still have them from time to time, just keep your restraint and work it into your full meal plan.
